Leslie Ironfield, Jannetta Connelly and Lou Ann Connelly have been friends most of their lives and have many shared interests. They are all nurses, and they all like to play the lottery.

They each take turns buying tickets for their group and don’t always play the same game, though Leslie loves to play the popular Draw game Powerball®. When Jannetta and Lou Ann scanned their Powerball® tickets using the Hoosier Lottery app and realized the trio had won $50,000, they immediately called Leslie to share the good news. When they reached her, Leslie was in the middle of a shopping trip at Meijer and was so shocked she could only manage two words, “Shut. Up.”

This is the first time that any of the New Albany and Georgetown residents have won a large amount—the largest the group had won previously was $50. They plan on using the prize money to pay off some debts and plan a trip to Hilton Head. They are all very grateful and look forward to continuing to play the Hoosier Lottery.
