Jeanie Harris was the beneficiary of a happy accident when she purchased her first Powerball® with Double Play® ticket. Jeanie normally stops in the Wilbur Store to purchase Powerball and Mega Millions® tickets each week. She always plays the same numbers based on family birthdates and anniversaries.

On the day Jeanie purchased the winning ticket, the clerk accidentally added Double Play to her purchase, which Jeanie had never played before. The clerk offered to give her a new ticket, but Jeanie agreed to take the ticket with the add-on.

After the drawing, Jeanie checked the Powerball numbers and didn’t think she had won anything. Later, she received a text from her son asking if Jeanie and her husband had seen that someone had purchased a winning $50,000 Powerball with Double Play ticket at the Wilbur Store. That’s when Jeanie took a closer look at her ticket and the Hoosier Lottery website and saw that the Double Play numbers matched her ticket and she had won $50,000!

This isn’t the first time Jeanie’s family has purchased a winning ticket at the Wilbur Store. Five years prior, her husband Dan also won $50,000 on a Powerball ticket purchased there. The couple can’t believe their chances of winning twice from the same place. “I’m going to send the owner an Edible Arrangement,” Jeanie said with a smile.

Jeanie and Dan are even more excited about this win than the first one because they plan to use the prize money to help others. They will be sharing the money with their church and friends in need, as well as using some of it for fun experiences during their family vacation.
